Wow so apparently my blog about our trip to BOSTON in May was never actually posted. SO here it is!!
What an INCREDIBLE experience. Ken and I are so grateful that we were able to seize this once in a lifetime opportunity and visit Boston MA. It was an awesome week, truly amazing, though crazy, tiring, stressful, happy, exciting, ect ect ect. Lets start from the BEGINNING.
Wed. May 16th- We made our flight at 4:40pm in Lubbock (barely) only to find out that our 2 hour layover in Dallas had become a 5 hour layover, meaning we wouldn't be getting into Boston until 3am. BUMMER, but the airport in Dallas is actually quite nice. We had dinner, watched TV did a little browsing through the MANY airport stores and before we knew it we were on the road (um, in the air) again.
Thurs. May 17th- We arrived in Boston at about 3:30am... got back to Levi's (Ken's brother) house and into bed by about 5am, with the morning sunrise making its grand appearance. :) We only slept a few hours before hitting the town, and boy did we see a lot. Driving is pretty crazy in Boston so we walked, rode the bus, or took the subway pretty much everywhere. We walked all around downtown Boston, visited the Bay area, checked out some pretty OLD historical buildings, visited a drunken Revolutionary War impersonator (he was silly, and looked JUST like Liam Neeson) and walked and walked and walked until our feet were blistered.
Fri. May 18th- We slept in :) We toured Boston College, attended the rehearsal for Levi's wedding, went a mall where the only store I could afford to shop in was Victoria's Secret (and I can barely afford that) and visited the campus and surrounding area of HARVARD UNIVERSITY. We didn't spend a lot of time at Harvard, but it's still neat to say I've atleast been there. We walked and walked and walked until my blisters had blisters... :) That night Ken's family flew in from Utah and his little brother Oliver and sister Natalie stayed the night with us.
Sat. May 19th- WEDDING DAY, we spent all morning making sure everything was ready for the wedding. I had bought some CUTE new heels to go with my dress for the wedding, but after all the WALKING we had already done, my feet were miserable the second I put them on. What a shame. I did push through, but I took them off every chance I got! I'll have to show them off another time I suppose... ANYWAY it turns out that the table clothes purchased for the wedding weren't the right size, so about 15 minutes before the wedding started my Father-in-law, my little brother-in-law and myself took off to find the right size. We made it back in 25 minutes... which with Boston traffic and having NO IDEA where we were going is kind of AWESOME! Luckily they didn't start without us :) The wedding was beautiful and we were treated to traditional Korean Food for the reception! Most of it was delicious, some not so much my type... but over all it was a wonderful experience! I'm so happy for Levi and Jiyoung!
Sun. May 20th- REST DAY.... NOT!!! We got up early and left for the Freedom Trail. The trail runs through Downtown Boston and is around 2.5 miles or so. It takes you through the city highlighting historical buildings, and graveyards where many of our founding fathers are buried! It was pretty cool, though somewhat unnerving to see how many cemeteries are strewn throughout Down Town! Then we took of for Plymouth Rock. The little town was so beautiful and we were able to get right down to the water. It wasn't like any beach I've been to on the West Coast, but we chased crabs, looked for seashells and enjoyed the beautiful ocen view!
Mon. May 21st- GRADUATION DAY! We attended Levi and Jiyoung's Graduation ceremony from Boston College. It was wonderful, I can't wait to be in that position myself someday, hopefully in the near future! It gave me some much needed motivation! They both graduated with their Masters in Theology! After the graduation we went.... SHOPPING! FINALLY! After a few hours at the mall, and a small dent in our bank account we headed back to a birthday celebration dinner for Ken's Grandpa Jones and myself. It was so fun to have the whole family together talking laughing and sharing a meal!
Tues. May 22nd- Travel Day :( Kens family left early, about 8am. We were lucky enough to be able to catch breakfast and say good bye to Levi before leaving for our 11:55am flight. It rained....
Boston is a beautiful city! It was so much cleaner than I expected and it was so GREEN and LUSH! I couldn't believe how clean the air smelled! I just couldn't get over it. The weather was perfect. Levi said it rained for days before we got there, but it was sunny, about 75 degrees with low humidity every single day we were there, what a miracle, and nice change from New Mexico! We never had to use an air conditioner even once, and I was cold at night! It was awesome to go to out to eat in a little pub and grill in down town Boston and sit next to the large open windows and enjoy the cool evening air each night! We had such an extraordinary time! If you ever get the chance to visit, DO! But rememeber to bring your walking shoes!! ;)

I'M BAAAACCCCKKKKK
HELLO! It's almost DECEMBER! Yikes, I have been AWOL for a while, but I'm back and ready to update... We have been so busy the last few months. We moved to Vernal Ut, I got a new job, we totalled our car, ken had his hernia repaired and the list goes on and on and on. We are LOVING being back up north, closer to our families. We are so grateful to Ken's parents for letting us rent from them, and for all they have done and continue to do to make us feel welcome and get settled in. The weather is turning cold now and I am seriously enjoying the need to wear all of my winter clothes that have been packed away for the last couple of years :)
The week before we moved up here Ken was hit in an intersection in NM while driving our Hyundai (don't worry he was perfectly fine, the car however, not so much), 2 months later all the paperwork and insurance was processed and the car was totalled. It would take quite a bit of mula to fix all the damage, so we took what the car was worth and called it good. I miss the car, it was the first large purchase Ken and I ever made together, it was a great vehicle and we wore it out!
I was able to find a pretty great job here working in the child care center at the local Recreation Center. I love being around the kids (infants-age 8) and my co-workers are totally awesome! Plus getting this job opened up several other opportunities for me, I have taught a sports overview class for toddlers called Itty Bitty Ball, put on a Basketball Camp for youth (ages 4-9), and even dabbled in a little bit of management. It has been a wonderful place to work with a lot of variety in my job description and something new everyday.
Finding a job that pays decently and is something I actually like was so lucky and came right at the perfect time. In the end of October Ken's hernia (which he has been fighting for a while) really started acting up, to the point where work was becoming just too much for him, so we FINALLY made arrangements to get it fixed. On Novemeber 12th he went in for surgery and things went great. He was super silly and unfortunately very sick coming out of the anesthesia, but he has been recovering fairly well. He will be out of work for at least 6 weeks, which is a little bit scary but it was definitely long over due! He feels so much better that he forgets he still needs to take it easy sometimes and usually pays for it the next day, but we haven't had any serious complications so we are counting our blessings!
Overall we are settling in and loving it! The mountains, lakes, rivers, TREES, grass, family and little bits of snow we have had are just beautiful and it has been wonderful to see them everyday again! We sure do miss all of our friends (and year round SOFTBALL) in TX and NM though!
So there it is, my little update long over due...Until next time....

June/July
OK, so a few months back I promised everyone that I was going to have a wild crazy busy exciting summer, and I promise I have not let you down ;). In fact my summer this far has been SO wild crazy busy and exciting that I haven't even been able to sit down long enough to blog about it. My apologies.
First- Softball has been amazing. I play on 3 different teams and I LOVE it. So I average 4-6 games a week with a practice here and there if I can squeeze it in. It keeps me busy while Ken is away, gives me opportunity for real adult interaction (time to make friends...) and helps me stay in shape during my lazy summer break :)
Second- IDAHO! I was fortunate enough to spend 3 WEEKS in Idaho with my family. I just love my family to pieces! I was able to spend some time with my parents and BIG baby brother, each of my siblings and their families, some good friends and my sweet grandma. I just love it there.
Third- While in Idaho my oldest brother Will celebrated his 30th birthday, by skydiving! Ken and I just couldn't pass it up! One more item crossed off our bucket lists! It was honestly not as terrifying as I anticipated, in fact it was the most exhilarating experience I have probably ever had. It takes some GUTS to jump from a perfectly good airplane- that's probably why they had to push me out. Not to mention that Ken got the "SPECIAL" parachute. He jumped AFTER me, free-fell TWICE as long as I did and LANDED a good minute- 2 minutes before me. He was ticked off thinking he got jipped until everyone swarmed him making sure he was ok because we all thought he was literally falling to his death! I about lost my mind watching him fall past me in the air! After he discovered that he got the shoot "heart attack" shoot he was pretty proud :) Lets just say I would do it again, willingly, in a heartbeat!!
Fourth- I guess the word is out so might as well make it official. Ken has been able to get a transfer north to his company's Rocky Mountain Region! We are moving back to IDAHO! I couldn't be more excited. Although it has been harder than I thought to tell all of my new dear friends here in New Mexico... BUT I just know this is right for us and we have been looking forward to this opportunity since we left almost 3 years ago! YAY! If you live in the Idaho Falls area keep an eye out for nice houses for us!
What a wild crazy busy exciting summer! And its not over yet! There is so much more to come, and I will TRY to remember to document it... ;)
That's all for now!

A tribute to Mothers...
Mothers Day, once a day where I would make cards from construction paper, flowers from tissue paper and pipe cleaners, and give gifts of homemade jewelry and IOU's, a day where I would thank my mommy for cleaning my room, cooking my meals and driving me around, has come to mean so much more to me.
As I have grown and started my own adult life I have realized just how much my mom and all mothers in my life have affected me and influenced the person I have become. I know I owe a part of every accomplishment, every success, every triumph in my life to those women who worked so selflessly to raise me, who helped to shape and mold my personality. I am so blessed to be surrounded by incredible examples of strong confident independent women, who take care of their families, friends, co-workers and everyone around them.
I am so grateful for my Mother, Mother-In-Law, Grandmothers, Aunts, Sisters and Friends who have supported me, loved me, laughed and cried with me and have been there for me throughout my life. I know a construction paper card or a sincere IOU would make your day, but I could never, ever, thank you enough for the life lessons you have taught me, the wisdom you have shared with me and the guidance you have so willingly given me. I love you, so very much. I truly owe you everything.
Thank you, to all the women in my life! You are incredible!

May is the best month EVER
If I make it through this month alive, or even half-awake, it will be an accomplishment! SO MUCH is happening!
My sweet sister Tricia was here for about a week, and left today :( I love her and we had such a great time, I hate that she won't just move here, no matter how hard I beg ;) We spent an evening at my school auction, road tripped to Lubbock (see below), spent a couple days camping and even got caught in a MASSIVE storm!
Ya this picture is nasty, we were completely soaked from running into WalMart. Luckily we reached the car to leave right as the quarter-sized hail started to fall. However we did not leave unscathed. Poor Dish took a hail stone to the back from an open window (oops my bad) that left quite a welt! All in all it was a wonderful visit. Miss you sister!
This month I was also accepted to college at ENMU. Yep, back to the grind. The excitement of opening up an acceptance letter does not dim with age... just sayin. I can't wait to get back on track on finish up my degree. It looks like Speech Language Pathology and I have a long road ahead of us, but I'm ready, bring it on :)
Next on the agenda for May? BOSTON!!!! In one short week Ken and I will be boarding our plane to MA! I'm beside myself I'm so excited. I've never been to the East Coast. It will be an adventure for sure. Levi and Jiyoung will be getting MARRIED on Saturday and Graduating on Monday and I couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of these sweet moments in their life! Plus almost all of Ken's family will be there, REUNION TIME! I just can't get enough of family!
Once we return home from Boston I will have 3 DAYS LEFT OF SCHOOL! (Technically I work for 2 weeks after the kids are out, but that's cake) I just cannot believe how fast this year has come and gone, and how INCREDIBLY BLESSED I am to work at Stone! Honestly I'm just glad I made it through the year, I will admit there were times when I didn't think I would! I love my job, but seriously, bring on summer vacation!
And last but CERTAINLY not least, the biggest reason MAY is the BEST MONTH EVER..... My Birthday. :) Granted with all of the happenings this month I don't expect anything special, in fact Ken will be away at work, but it is my golden year... 24 on the 24th. Yay me :)
I hope everyone has a beautiful month of May, or at least a month HALF as AWESOME as mine... Just trickin...

Family
Lately FAMILY has been weighing heavily on my mind. FAMILY is the MOST important thing in my life. FAMILIES come in all different shapes and sizes (mine consists of more dogs than people :), all with distinctly different personalities, opinions and ideas. Many FAMILIES are not even related by blood, but by something much stronger... love, kindness, caring, friendship, respect etc...
I have so many wonderful people in my life that I can call FAMILY. We do not always see eye to eye, we do not always agree and get along, in fact sometimes we really tick each other off, but it doesn't matter because after all is said and done we are still FAMILY.
I have been blessed beyond measure to be a part of incredible FAMILIES. Whether we are 10 minutes or 1000 miles apart, I am thankful every single day to have incredible people in my life. And hopefully someday will be blessed to expand my own FAMILY and bring incredible people into my life.
To all of my FAMILY members, whether related by blood or bond, I am sincerely grateful for you, for your impact on my life, and for helping me to become the person I one day hope to be. I love you, unconditionally, and I always will.

Hello Again
Every Year I KNOW I will be better at being more consistent on here, and every year I am not... SO SORRY! However a handfull of posts each year is better than none I think. Today I will be introducing you to the newest member of our family. Rig.
Rig is a purebred American Bulldog, like Harley. It really took some convincing from Ken for me to get on board with bringing ANOTHER dog into my home (which is already hard to keep clean with 2!) let alone a boy, but I just melted when we met him. Some friends of ours were having AB puppies and we just couldn't resist. We met him the day he was born and just knew he was ours.
He is such a sweet boy, and a momma's boy at that! Which in our house is unheard of. NO animal perfers me over Ken, ever. But for some reason this little man has chosen me :)
He is definitely all boy and has the attitude and personality to prove it! Our girls were definitely playful energetic puppies, but this Rig baby has more energy than they both had combined! Thank goodness for Maddie and Harley being great big sisters and wearing him out for me most days! I just can't keep up.
The weather here has finally turned nice and we have started camping again. Baby Rig has been twice now and LOVES IT! He is still a little bit unsure about water, but I don't think it will be long before he is right there with Harley ready to swim ALL DAY! (Camping pictures coming soon!)
As a family we are doing so well, loving the nice spring weather and looking forward to my summer break! A few fun things we will be keeping busy with this summer:
1. We are taking a week long trip to BOSTON MA! Ken's brother is getting married and they are both graduating from Boston University, we are SO EXCITED
2. CAMPING!!! We plan to spend as much time outdoors as possible!
3. Buying a home. We have been in the works with this for a few months, but just can't seem to find the place for us. But we are hoping and crossing our fingers that we will find the place and FINALLY have our own home by the end of the summer!
4. Seeing family! We hope to make it north at least once to see everyone!
MANY fun and exciting things are coming for us and we feel so blessed! We hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend and that you all get to spend it with the ones you love. We will be thinking of you!
